Eighteenth-century building situated near the township of Bronte and more precisely in the area of Maniace, also known as the  Duchy of Nelson.  In 1799 the land was gifted by the King of Two Sicilies, Ferdinand III of Bourbon, to the English Admiral Orazio Nelson as a reward for having helped him to control the insurrections in Naples.
