This excursion will take you into the Etna National Park. Driving through the many villages on the slopes of the Volcano, we reach a height of 2000m above sea level and an unforgettable lunar landscape. From this altitude, the spent Silvestri Craters offer spectacular views of the Ionian coast. This guided tour involves transport by car. Cable car and 4 wheel drive busses to the top craters at 3.100m are also available however these extensions attract additional costs and take approximately 3:00 hrs. English speaking guides and rangers accompany groups and individuals to the summit. On request the tour can include a visit to the Lava Museum, a must for young and old interested in understanding the working of volcanos.
Many restaurants and bars serving traditional dishes can be found in the tourist village and offer a great opportunity for a pleasant lunch break. It is also possible to program degustation lunches and wine tastings at the many Cellars on the mountain.
